Planning team hosts second open house for Southwest Johnson County Area Plan

Southwest Johnson County Area Plan partners will host a public open house on Thursday, Feb. 28, to discuss land-use options, transportation alternatives and other development ideas for this growing area. The input and participation of citizens, property owners, developers, outdoor enthusiasts and public officials is crucial to planning the future of southwest Johnson County.

When: Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, 6–8 p.m.

Two identical presentations will be given at 6 and 7 p.m., followed by informal discussion with planning team members about possible alternatives, concerns and preferences.

Where: Gardner City Hall, 120 East Main, Gardner, Kan.

The Southwest Johnson County Area Plan is a unique partnership of the cities of Edgerton and Gardner;Johnson County, Kan.; the Kansas Department of Transportation; and the Mid-America Regional Council. These partners are working together to plan and guide the future of transportation, development, open space, natural resources and special features near the new BNSF Intermodal Facility and Logistics Park Kansas City.
